Catalan has been in my top five restaurants for around 10 years with consistent 5 star reviews which you can read here. I understand that they're under new management and our meal last night was of the same high quality happy to say. So why 4 stars?! I just can't forgive only 3 medium sized sea scallops for $45 when we're used to getting 5 and sometimes 6 jumbo scallops for $45!!!! If this is the new normal at Catalan we won't be ordering this dish again....

Great dinner with great company! A friend and I visited for dinner - a friend had recently raved about his dinner.. which I had been to Catalan several times, some time ago. I made a 5:15 res.. early dinner on a Monday! While under new ownership, the menu has been elevated and did not disappoint! We started off with the hummus trio which was a hit!! All of the flavors were there- red pepper, classic hummus, and edamame - genius, perfectly baked pita bread! I went for the seafood paella, because paella is something that you don't see in many menus- this one was delicious! A generous portion and perfect spice for me! My friend ordered the fish, which I didn't try but looked lovely and her expression showed her delight! We were too full for dessert but I REALLY want chocolate churros, next time!! Service was great, it was Monday evening- we were excited to find a place to dine that was open on a Monday! : ) our server was pleasant, it seemed like he knew the perfect timing to stop by and offered our refills at the perfect time! The restaurant is romantic yet inviting! Nice for a date night or like us, a girls dinner. I like the option of the enclosed patio and bar seating - a space based on your mood or company! I can't wait to be back! A nice variety in their menu. Oh!! And super excited that they have a mocktail list, with specialty items! Perfect refreshers for our toasty temps!

We were looking forward to a meal here with the parents and it did not disappoint. We sat in the courtyard (atrium), which was lovely. Not too loud and not too crowded. No need for those heaters. Service was on point. All were friendly and accommodating. They let us take our time but they were still attentive; we never felt rushed. He and I started with the Spanish Old Fashioned - it was plenty strong, but not the best we've had. The parents started with a pitcher of the homemade sangria and really liked it. Enough that we helped them finish that first pitcher and share another. Food was also on point. We started with the Chef's Mixed Plate Tapas and we were all happy. Next, the parents shared the scallops over risotto, I had the cavatappi with beef cheeks and truffle butter, and he had pasta with a wonderful mix of seafood (can't remember the name). All in all a wonderful evening. We will certainly return.

Regardless of how great the food is I would 100% visit this spot for the service alone. It's family owned and ran, and they are all so personable and make you feel welcome. The hospitality may be the best I've experienced, calling me by my first name and multiple people stopping in to make sure I was okay. Ordered scallops and risotto very good. And had Spanish beer which was also very tasty. From what I understood paella and scallops are the go to. I watched them interact with everyone in the restaurant and they treated everyone else the same. Great for large events, saw a huge party in their atrium. Definitely stop in.

Food was excellent Had the seafood paella And the bucatini was very very flavorful Friend had the halibut and was a very large and flavorful New owners very nice and accommodating A little slow service to start but then was he picked it up and was excellent Ambiance was very nice also

I wasn't expecting too much, but was pleasantly surprised. When you walk in, it has such a cool vibe and you're immediately greeted at the door by who I presume are the owners. Everyone is extraordinarily friendly and attentive. All of our meals were delicious (I had the scallops) but if I'm being honest, my favorite part was the hummus trio appetizer. I'm still thinking about it!

Love love love!! What an ambiance! The new ownership has really done its work with this beautiful restaurant! If you're in the area highly suggest stopping by.

**A Hidden Gem for Authentic Spanish Cuisine!** If you're craving a taste of The Mediterranean without the need for a plane ticket, look no further than Catalan! This charming restaurant has quickly become our go-to spot for authentic Spanish dishes. The food here is nothing short of spectacular. The paella is truly a masterpiece--rich in flavor and perfectly balanced. The large diver scallops were cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor. A friend had the seafood pasta and said it was excellent. And let me tell you about the Basque cheesecake... it's an absolute must-try! Having traveled to Spain several times, we have often found ourselves longing for those authentic flavors. Now, with Catalan just a short drive down highway 111, we can indulge in our favorite dishes whenever the craving strikes. The new owners have infused the restaurant with personal touches that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. I've heard whispers of a fabulous happy hour tapas menu, adding even more excitement to the experience! I highly recommend Catalan for anyone looking to enjoy a genuine Mediterranean dining experience. You won't be disappointed! My wife and I came here for our 6th anniversary from a recommendation from my sister and her husband. The ambiance of the restaurant was very romantic. We were very surprised we were the only ones here for dinner! The waiter was super nice and offered suggestions when we asked. Highly recommend this place

We had a reservation to dine here and celebrate a birthday while in Palm Springs area. We had explored Joshua Tree earlier in the day, and weren't too dressed up for dinner. Coming during the weekend, we thought it'd be busy, but it wasn't when we arrived. The kind lady at the entrance greeted us and we could sit practically anywhere in the restaurant. The atmosphere was very clean and very well-curated. The servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and overall great. We ordered the chicken, which was the best I have ever had from a restaurant. The soft meat fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. It tasted so good and was spiced just right--not too spicy, not bland. We also had the hummus, which did not disappoint. It came in three different varieties, one of which I loved, but I couldn't tell what was in it. And the pesto was also delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely return when visiting the area.
